1. What is THKD doing to ensure outpatient and inpatient safety?

THKD takes patient, visitor and staff safety seriously. We follow the guidelines and standard operating procedures as advised by the Ministry of Health (MOH). Patients with signs and symptoms of any respiratory disease will be isolated and treated in a dedicated ward where our healthcare staff are well-trained to manage these cases.

Here are the necessary precautions taken to ensure THKD remains safe for all:

  • All patients and visitors are advised to wear a mask.
  • Hand sanitisers are available at every entrance, public areas, lift lobbies and wards.
  • Social distancing is practiced in the hospital.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn by healthcare staff at all times.
  • Patients admitted with signs and symptoms of respiratory disease are transported throughout the hospital via dedicated routes and lifts. All areas including lifts are sanitised regularly and after use by these patients.
  • All our Covid-19 patients or PUI (persons under investigation) are not allowed to leave their ward.
  • Only 1 visitor is allowed to accompany any inpatient or outpatient in our Hospital. Visitors are not allowed to linger in public areas or hospital corridors. All other visitors must wait outside the hospital.

  • Our security officers are stationed round-the-clock to clear these pathways and ensure safety of others.
