Nephrology

What is Nephrology

Nephrology is a medical specialty that deals with the kidneys. Rising rates of non-communicable diseases such as hypertension, heart disease and diabetes often bring about other complications such as kidney disease. As malfunctioning kidneys spell long-term care and management, our team will help you look at holistic ways to arrest kidney failure and allow good quality of life. Using a well-established multidisciplinary approach, we ensure you are properly educated on kidney disease and how to care for yourself with minimal disruption to your daily routine.

Common Kidney Diseases

  • Diabetic kidney disease
  • Glomerular/vascular disorders
  • Tubular/interstitial disorders
  • Acute kidney injury
  • Hypertension
  • Metabolic disorders
  • Renal/urinary disorders

End-Stage Renal Disease

Advanced kidney disease can have a serious impact on your family life, finances and quality of life. When medications no longer work, renal replacement therapy, more commonly known as dialysis, will be necessary to prevent the accumulation of waste and excess fluids in the body. Dedicated and caring, our renal team will guide you and your family through your treatment and management of:
  • Chronic kidney disease
  • End-stage renal disease
  • Haemodialysis
  • Peritoneal dialysis
